Introducing Senior Manager, School and District Partnerships: Doug Sovde

We asked Doug a few questions about his life inside and outside of Derivita and here are the results:

1. In 2 sentences, please describe what you do for Derivita. 

I work with districts and state departments of education to solve the problems they and their teachers are facing when it comes to improving students' experiences and outcomes in learning mathematics.

2. What makes Derivita different from other companies in the EdTech space? 

The quality of the mathematics; Derivita's ability to provide individualized feedback to students on open-ended questions, and the people.

3. What is your favorite part of working at Derivita? 

I just love working with the people at derivita and the people whom we serve. It's a really unique gathering: people who are committed to kids and to each other. 

4. What is your most listened to or your go-to song right now? 

"Bartender" by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds in Las Vegas. 

5. Fall is in full force! What is your favorite Fall dessert? 

I'm actually not really a desert-food guy. I am, however, a desert-drink guy. My favorite fall treat is a nice mulled wine!
