Derivita’s aims to reshape online math courses
The co-founder of Instructure and co-creator of Canvas Learning Management System (LMS), Devlin Daley, and software engineer super star, Ryan Brown, came together to create a digital toolbox that would reshape the world of online math instruction.

How we got here
In 2017, Devlin became increasingly aware that hundreds of U.S. K-12 and Higher-Ed institutions were struggling to adapt their math curriculum to digital learning environments. The existing online math software, tools, and question banks simply weren’t equipped to do what their teachers needed. Instead of improving the online math experience, these tools were hindering it.
So Derivita was born with one mission in mind:

Derivita has grown in the last five years to serve 56+ public and private K-12 systems and schools as well as Higher-Ed institutions with 96,600+ active users. But we’re just getting started.
What a math tool should be
Derivita is frictionless. It seamlessly integrates with existing LMSs. It is device agnostic. It allows you to create aligned and standardized assignments and assessments with a growing content library or with customized tools. It allows students to show their written work without downloading anything.
